If you are leading a busy life and instead of looking like a boss you like like a juggler trying to keep everything in your life moving, you need a Virtual Assistant . A virtual assistant can help you in ways more than one.

Hiring someone to help you manage your business and personal life gives you more time to focus on things that personal matters to you. Instead of doing tedious tasks, you can focus more on the important aspects of your business.

Outsourcing several tasks to a Virtual Assistant also helps you cut cost on operational expenses. You don't need to worry about directly hiring another employee for your business, no need to invest on office equipment like computer and tables and chairs. When you outsource, you don't have to worry about additional expenses like government mandated benefits, insurance and health benefits.

There are several tasks that you outsource to a virtual assistant and this includes:
  1. Moderating forum and blog comments
  2. Calling cold leads
  3. Creating graphics
  4. Generating newsletters
  5. Publishing articles to online article directories
  6. Selling items on eBay
  7. Bookkeeping
  8. Building websites
  9. Creating content for blog entries, articles, PowerPoints,
  10. Scheduling your appointments
  11. Researching and evaluating software tools
  12. Product research
  13. Submitting online videos to video sites
  14. Populating your twitter tweets
  15. Copy writing
  16. Creating social content pages on Squidoo, HubPages, etc.
  17. Landing page creation
  18. Link building
  19. Maintaining PPC campaigns

This is just a matter of personal opinion: I think Personal Assistants (PAs) are meant not to make their boss a cup of coffee. My point is, you hired a competent professional to take care of your administrative and personal needs, why let them make you coffee.

When I say administrative needs this includes diary and spreadsheet management, accounting and bookkeeping, research and reporting, etc. When we say "personal" this includes hotel reservations, flight and travel reservations, appointment setting with a client, doctor, or managing the payment of credit cards and bills.

If you hired someone to do all these stuff for you and your business, why would you ask them to make you a cup of coffee (unless coffee-making is one of their forte). When people think about Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, or Secretary it is almost synonymous to coffee-making.

I think it's about time we UPGRADE how the world see PAs, EAs and Secretaries. These are professional people that CEOs hire to represent them and their business. Why ask them to get you a cup of coffee?

Just a thought really.

Work As A Virtual Assistant

Do you want to work as a virtual assistant? A virtual assistant is a personal assistant working at a different country or location. It's like working as an executive secretary except you're not working inside your boss' office.

You might be miles away from your boss. He could be in California or London, and you could be in Manila or Singapore. Your a "virtual" personal assistant. Your responsibilities may be the same as those of the regular EAs or secretaries but your tasks are limited to what you can do for your boss ONLINE.

No, your boss can't ask you to make him a cup of coffee, get his wife's laundry at the shop, or prepare his lunch. Your contact with your boss is through the phone and the Internet. Working as a virtual assistant, your tasks would include the following:
  • make/receive telephone calls
  • create/reply to e-mails
  • word processing
  • data filing
  • faxing
  • create correspondences/report
  • data management
  • customer service
  • online marketing
  • conduct research
  • diary and spreadsheet management
And the list can go on and on and on because the virtual assistants are becoming the jack-of-all-trades. If the task can be done using the computer, phone, and the Internet the virtual assistants can do it.
